Case study · AXA Global Healthcare
Customers were covered anywhere in the world. But claiming on that cover meant forms, receipts and waiting to be paid back. So we helped design all three away.
We didn't make the claim form easier to fill in. We made it disappear.
The problem
AXA Global Healthcare gives internationally mobile customers cover that follows them across borders. But the moment they needed to use it, the process worked against them — pay the clinic upfront, keep every receipt, complete a claim form, then wait to be reimbursed.
Across different countries, currencies and clinics, that administrative burden was enough to put people off claiming at all — quietly eroding the value of the very product they had bought.
The cover was never the problem. Claiming on it was.
What we did
Ninety worked with AXA Global Healthcare to rethink the claim from the customer's point of view — then design it out of the journey entirely.
The outcome
AXA Global Healthcare launched the no-claim proposition in early 2024.
It has measurably lifted customer satisfaction, earned industry awards and media coverage, and set a new benchmark for what making a health claim abroad should feel like: nothing at all.

The takeaway
The best experience in insurance is often the one a customer never notices. AXA Global Healthcare didn't add features to the claim — they designed the claim away, and made the product more valuable by asking less of the people using it.
